FIRST Robotics Competition playing field usage for 2010
AndyMark is coordinating the usage of a 2010
FIRST Breakaway playing field. This field is located in Kokomo, Indiana, with the intention to be used in Midwest off-season events.

$800 Field Use and Reservation Fee
This reserves the field for your event and helps pay for transporting the field to Indiana from Atlanta in April and from Indiana to Manchester in November. The more events using this field will lower the cost down from $800 each.

Event Transportation Fee
Each event is responsible for shipping the field from Kokomo to their event location. If AndyMark personnel can attend the event, then AndyMark can bring the field to the event for a cost of $1.50 per mile traveled. If the travel distance is more than 500 miles from AndyMark, then this fee per mile is $2.
To use this field, you must do these tasks
1. Contact Andy Baker andyb@andymark.biz, providing of this information:

Does this event need an FTA? (field setup and operation)
Do you need carpet?
Do you need soccer balls?
How will you be managing the field transportation from Kokomo, Indiana to your event?
2. Fill out and fax FIRST's required documents to FIRST (603-666-3907) and AndyMark (765-868-4795)
All field users must be approved by FIRST HQ in Manchester. Users must fill out documents for FIRST, located on the Invitational Tournament Criteria portion of the FIRST website.
3. Look at the dates for the list of events below and not pick the same date.

4. Buy some consumables needed to setup and use the field. (AndyMark will not be providing these items)
- Green Gaffer's Tape*, 2" wide x 180 yards
- Black Gaffer's Tape, 2" wide x 60 yards
- White Gaffer's Tape, 2" wide x 120 yards
- Red Gaffer's Tape, 2" wide x 60 yards
- Blue Gaffer's Tape, 2" wide x 60 yards
- Red Vinyl Tape, 2" wide x 60 yards (for queing)
- Blue Vinyl Tape, 2" wide x 60 yards (for queing)
- Heavy Duty Zip Ties, 120 (~24" long)
- Regular Zip Ties, 150 (~12" long)
- Small Zip Ties, 100 (~5-6" long)

* Gaffer's tape is expensive, but a must-have. This tape does not leave sticky residue on equipment, carpeting, or flooring like duct tape would.
FMS Software
Software from FIRST is available, at these websites:
- FMS Light is for robot control only.
- FMS Delta has all the same features as the standard FMS Software (schedule generation, match review, etc.)
When you reserve this field, e-commerce system will initially tag on a shipping charge for this Field Use and Reservation Fee. This shipping charge will be omitted before the charge card is processed. Please ignore this $8 shipping charge.
An alternative to using this field is to build a lower cost field out of wood. We have a complete design available for anyone to use, if they wish. The raw material cost to make this field border is approximately $1000. This cost does not include the polycarbonate, the 2010-specific game elements, or any of the field electronics.
